Answer:

The S5 10PV is an exact match.

S5 Solar Hot Water Pump 10PV SS
S5 Solar Pump 10PV SS

Question:

Can your S5 15PV SS pump create enough pressure to active and operate an LP gas instant water heater that requires 5 PSI?

Answer:

Yes.

S5 15 PV Solar Hot Water Pump
S5 Solar Pump 15 PV SS

Question:

What is the maximum water pressure that the S5 Solar Pump 15PV will produce?

Answer:

Our pumps are circulating pumps. Circulating pumps do not create much pressure but our S5 is designed to handle the kind of pressure that can develop in a solar hot-water system. In fact, the S5 can handle as much as 145 PSI / 110 Bar.

Question:

I have a question on your D5 SS 24V 25L pump. The head is 16 feet. Is it possible to run two pumps in series and increase the head? I need a pump that will give me about 30ft head.

Answer:

It should work but placement is important. Putting two D5 pumps next to each other will not give you the head you want but if you run them in series you can get more head.

Question:

I was planning to build my heat collection box with several loops of 1/2″ pex, maybe 50′, then paint it all flat black and cover it with an old tempered glass patio door.  I have no idea at this point how high the temperature might get – maybe 180 degrees Fahrenheit, based on what I’ve seen others do.  Do you think there’s a need for any kind of expansion cylinder or tank with wide fluctuations in temperature within a closed system?

Answer:

You would likely want to consider either our S5 Solar Pump or our D5 Solar Hot Water Pump for that project. Both pumps can run directly off solar power, but you should keep in mind that it is an enclosed system. If it has been fully purged of air it only needs a pump that will keep the water circulating, but it should be neither too fast nor too slow.

The S5 Solar Pump 15PV 3GPM would likely be an adequate solution for you. It has a maximum temperature resistance of 230 F / 10 C.
